Directors and Executive Officers

The following individuals serve as directors and executive officers of our company. All directors of our company hold office until the next annual meeting of our stockholders or until their successors have been elected and qualified.


Since early 2002, Glenn Sanford has been actively involved in the online real estate space. In early 2007, Mr. Sanford launched BuyerTours Realty, LLC which, using a combination of web and traditional bricks and mortar, grew to three offices and into two states. After the drop off of the market in late 2008, Mr. Sanford and his executive team went back and rewrote the entire business model in recognition of the “perfect storm” of lower revenues, fixed or rising overhead costs, and a consumer with more information and access than ever before. eXp Realty, LLC was launched in October 2009 as the first truly cloud-based national real estate brokerage which meant giving up the traditional bricks and mortar environment and moving to a fully-immersive 3D virtual office environment where agents, brokers and staff collaborate across borders while learning and transacting business from anywhere in the world. In 2013, eXp Realty became a subsidiary of eXp Realty International Corp.

From 2004 to 2007, Mr. Sanford ran a large mega-agent team and consulted to Keller Williams International as a member of the Agent Technology Council in the areas of online client acquisition, client conversion and technology. Mr. Sanford was also a significant contributor to Keller Williams Internet Lead Generation Masterminds.

Prior to real estate, Mr. Sanford was active at the executive level with a number of technology-related companies. In 1998, Mr. Sanford founded and served as President for, an online e-commerce and logistics company.


Russ Cofano joined the Company as its Chief Strategy Officer and General Counsel on July 29, 2016.  Prior to joining eXp, Russ was Senior Vice President of Industry Relations for Move, Inc., operator of  At Move, Russ was instrumental in reinvigorating’s relationship with MLSs and associations and was a key influencer in product improvements.  Prior to Move, Russ served as Chief Executive Officer for the Missouri REALTORS®. In just three short years, Russ super-charged the association with a re-energized staff, new strategic plan, innovative member focused governance structure, private member-only social network, and implementation of a new governmental affairs program for local markets. Prior to his stint in Missouri, Russ was Vice President and General Counsel to John L. Scott Real Estate, consistently ranked as one of the largest real estate brokerage companies in the nation, and helped JLS weather the great recession.  Russ is a noted author, speaker and consultant in organized real estate, having worked at executive levels in nearly every segment of the industry.

Russ was also a private practice attorney for many years where he advised on matters involving real estate brokerage, REALTOR associations, MLSs, technology and intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, business transactions and franchising.


In May, 2016 Jason was appointed Chief Executive Officer of eXp Realty, the Company’s real estate brokerage division. As CEO of eXp Realty, the Agent-Owned Cloud Brokerage®️, now operational in more than 41 US States, the District of Columbia, and parts of Canada, Jason is actively engaged in driving company growth while working with the rest of the eXp executive team to ensure that systems, processes and infrastructure exist to support rapid expansion. Jason participates regularly in business model profitability discussions with owners of leading independent brokerages and others demonstrating the company’s high-engagement, cloud-based model and its dramatic impact on cost, profitability and the synergies that exist when the agents and brokers of a publicly-traded real estate brokerage are also its shareholders. Since September, 2013, eXp Realty has achieved annual growth at a rate that positions it as one of the fastest growing real estate brokerages and real estate brands in the United States.


Vikki Bartholomae joined eXp Realty, LLC in July, 2015 and assumed the role of President on May 5, 2016.  Mrs. Bartholomae has over 15 years of real estate industry experience.  Prior to joining eXp, Bartholomae held various sales and leadership positions with Tarbell, Realtors, Disney Vacation Development and more than 6 years as a Team Leader in the Keller Williams organization, during which time she achieved net agent gain of 192% and gains in both agent production (47%) and profit (56%) in the market centers she managed in Southern California and Texas. Mrs. Bartholomae also has extensive experience in the coaching and training of real estate professionals, which includes the development of mentor programs for new agents.


Alan Goldman joined the Company as its Chief Financial Officer on March 16, 2016. Mr. Goldman joins the Company from PCAOB-registered Ingenium Accounting Associates, where he was a Partner focused on providing auditing services, attestation-related services, and outsourced CFO consulting services for both public and private companies. Goldman possesses expertise in financial reporting, business planning and financial business modeling, accounting software implementations, risk assessment, and back office operations. Goldman brings to eXp a thorough understanding and application of public company accounting standards and joins eXp after providing services for the Company in a consultative role for approximately the past three years.


After serving as Controller for Texas Instruments, in 1984 Gene left the corporate world for a career in Real Estate. He first sold for two small companies that were bought out by Coldwell Banker. Three years later he joined Re/Max, and soared to become one of the Top 20 Realtors in Texas. In 1989, Gene started Phoenix-based Realty Executives in Dallas, TX. In 1994 he sold this franchise and hired on with Keller Williams in Dallas as one of the first 10 agents at the Dallas Preston Road Market Center.

Gene has extensive management experience in residential real estate. Prior to joining eXp Realty, LLC., and his appointment to the eXp Board of Directors, he had served over the past two decades in various management capacities at Keller Williams. Among his many accomplishments during his tenure with Keller Williams began when Gene and his wife, Susan, became Team Leaders of the Dallas Preston Road Market Center in 1999 -2006 and grew that office from 100 to 533 agents! Both Gene and Susan were installed into the Keller Williams Team Leader Hall of Fame in 2009.

Gene was the top Team Leader for Keller Williams in recruiting for 4 of the last 11 years, including 2005, 2006, 2012, and 2013. Gene served with Keller Williams most recently out of the Austin NW Market Center as Team Leader, where he grew the office from 320 agents to 641 in 4 years! Prior to that Gene was Regional Director of Keller Williams Virginia from 2007-2009 where he was #1 Nationally in franchise sales for 2007 and 2008.

Gene and Susan currently reside in Austin, Texas, have 5 grown children and 4 grandchildren.

Darren Jacklin currently sits on paid international boards of directors of public companies and advisory boards. Darren has personally trained over 150 Fortune 500 companies such as Microsoft, AT&T, Black & Decker, Barclays Bank, as well as high school, college, university students and professional athletes and has connected with people in more than 126 countries.


For over 25 years Mr. Miles has held senior leadership positions in global financial services, financial technology and investment banking companies.  His extensive investment banking background at bulge bracket, regional and boutique firms advising financial services companies on strategic and financial needs has crossed many disciplines.  Mr. Miles’ transactional and advisory experience is complemented by leadership of public and private equity backed financial technology, specialty finance and software companies including Chairman and CEO at LIONMTS where he was nominated for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award, CEO at Syngence Corporation, COO of AtlasBanc Holdings Corp. and CEO of Advantage Funding / NAFCO Holdings which grew to in excess of $1 billion.  Mr. Miles is currently Managing Partner at SCM Capital Group, a global strategic and financial advisory firm and Senior Managing Director at Tigress Financial Partners, a full service institutional broker dealer where is he is head of Investment Banking.  Most recently, Mr. Miles served as Senior Managing Director, Head of FIG and COO, Investment Banking at Cantor Fitzgerald & Co.  Mr. Miles has held senior leadership roles at Oppenheimer & Co., D.A. Davidson and & Co., The First Boston Corporation (Credit Suisse) Meridian Capital and Greenwich Capital Markets.  Mr. Miles has broad public, private and nonprofit board experience and has been active for many years in leadership roles with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He presently serves on the boards of Kuity, Corp. and Posiba, Inc. as Vice Chairman and Chairman respectively.  Mr. Miles holds a BBA from the University of Washington and holds FINRA licenses Series 7, 24, 63 and 79.


For over 25 years Mr. Miller has held senior leadership positions in companies ranging from a Fortune 10 to a startup. His extensive experience as a turnaround specialist and an expert in sustainable growth has been applied as an executive inside organizations and as a confidant advising from outside companies. Mr. Miller began his career as a sales trainee at Sperry/Unisys and left 15 years later as Divisional VP/GM of North America. Mr. Miller was recruited by AT&T where he served as President of Global Services. He later served as President, COO, and as a Board member at internet startup OPUS360 where he led the company’s successful IPO. Mr. Miller was later recruited by Lucent Technologies to lead their worldwide sales efforts. Later, he was named President, Lucent Government Solutions. Mr.Miller also served as CEO at the Balance & Stretch Center, a non-profit focused on supporting children with diabetes. Mr. Miller is currently Chief at Being Chief LLC where he serves as an advisor to a broad range of senior business leaders, across a diverse number of industries. He is also an author and public speaker. Mr. Miller’s success and unconventional approach has been highlighted in Harvard Business Review, Selling Power, USA Today,  and MSN Business. Most recently, Mr. Miller was named to serve on the Executive Committee for the Strategic Innovation Lab at Case University’s Fowler Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit, focusing on sustainable growth. Mr. Miller has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management from Bentley University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Columbia University.


Laurie Hawkes has been a pioneer in bringing institutional capital to the single-family rental sector. Beginning in 2008, she co-founded American Residential Properties, LLC, ARP Phoenix Fund I, and American Residential Management, Inc., to invest in and manage single-family rental housing. Subsequently, in 2012, Ms. Hawkes co-founded American Residential Properties, Inc., a REIT, and led the financing and operations from a start-up entity to a $2 billion enterprise.

She co-led the company’s IPO, which was listed on the NYSE under the ticker ARPI in May, 2013. Ms. Hawkes served as President and Member of the Board of Directors of American Residential Properties, Inc. and was responsible for its financing and operations from the Company’s formation in May 2012. Beginning in March, 2013, she was also formally named ARPI’s Chief Operating Officer, responsible for its financing and operations. In March, 2016 ARPI merged with American Homes 4 Rent. The merger of these two publicly traded companies created an $8 billion enterprise with over 47,000 homes, which now trades under the ticker AMH on the NYSE.

Throughout her career, Ms. Hawkes has structured and negotiated more than $20 billion in corporate finance and real estate transactions including common stock offerings, convertible exchange notes, corporate secured and unsecured credit facilities, and real estate acquisitions. She has securitized debt transactions for all property types by utilizing numerous sources of financing, including private equity, capital markets, financial institutions and direct institutional investors.
